Robert Soukup, Economic Development Director Duties and Responsibilities The New Hampton Economic Development Department recruits retail, professional and industrial businesses and assemble Incentive Packages, which include the following:
Site No. 1: New Hampton Industrial Park South New Hampton's newest industrial park is strategically located adjacent to U.S. Hwy 63. The site has 152 acres ready for development and is zoned multi-purpose which allows for a mix of commercial and industrial businesses. New Hampton Municipal Light Plant and Butler County REC are the electric service providers, Black Hills Energy is the natural gas supplier and their website address is www.blackhillsenergy.com , and Iowa Telecom provides telecommunication services. The park is located one hour from commercial air service and approximately 45 minutes from Interstate 35. Site No. 1 has been designated a Urban Renewal Area and is in an Enterprise Zone as defined by the State of Iowa. This site is owned and operated by the New Hampton Industrial Development Corporation.
Site No. 2: 25 Acre Site Over 25 acres of land are available for development. This site is located near the intersection of US Hwy 18 and Hwy 63. The current zoning is commercial, and the surrounding land is zoned industrial and commercial. The New Hampton Municipal Light Plant and Hawkeye Tri-County REC are the electric suppliers, Black Hills Energy is the natural gas provider. A rail line runs adjacent to the property. New Hampton Five Star Cooperative owns this site. The Department also assists existing retail, professional and industrial businesses to expand by using Incentive Packages to make projects possible.
